Project Coordinator – Buildings + Places
Location:
Burnaby, BC | Hybrid work model
The role is to coordinate project activities, support Project Managers and technical leads in delivering complex building and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities- Support Project Managers in day‑to‑day coordination of activities across multidisciplinary teams.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure seamless execution.
- Prepare and maintain meeting minutes, action logs, and follow‑up tracking.
- Assist with project controls: track budgets, schedules, deliverables, and risk escalation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and cost management.
- Monitor progress against milestones, identify risks, and report status.
- Track and coordinate project deliverables, ensuring completeness and quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation and version control.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules.
- Manage workflows, deadlines, and document submissions in project systems.
- Collect and analyze project data; prepare weekly and monthly status reports.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada security clearance.
- 3–5 years of project coordination or delivery experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience supporting building or infrastructure projects.
- Exposure to project management processes, including controls and reporting.
- Familiarity with engineering and architectural documentation workflows.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and accountable work style.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for tracking and reporting.
- Experience with project scheduling tools (MS Project or equivalent).
- Familiarity with document control and collaboration platforms (SharePoint, BIM 360, Aconex, etc.).
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain Reliability Status (minimum).
- Secret Clearance (required for most projects).
- Clearances administered by the Contract Security Program through Public Works and Government Services Canada.
- Relocation not available.
- Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization not available.
Annual salary range: CAD 65,000 – CAD 90,000. Pay based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
