About this role
We are recruiting for a Service Technician, Controls to join our Burnaby or Victoria office. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.
The Service Technician, Controls will be involved in building control systems installations and servicing. This role works on building automation controls systems for new and renovated buildings as well as upgrades for existing client sites. You will work with Project Managers, design team, & field staff.
Your responsibilities
Provide quality and timely service, troubleshoot and installation of building automation systems according to the specifications and design of a building's HVAC systemConfigure, integrate, test, commission and service building automation systems including the integration of various HVAC systems such as chillers and boilersEfficiently and effectively troubleshoot technical systemsCommunicate any changes, site issues or concerns to the project teamActively contribute to the project team, escalating any issues or new requests from clients to the Project ManagerAdhere to best practices, industry standards and Houle's commitment to qualityLead customer training, demos and project close out processesIdentify potential business opportunities from interaction with clientsRemain familiar with new products, solution versions, upgrades and compatibilityBe familiar with system integration capabilities of all Houle offerings and 3rd partiesMaintain knowledge of and promote all Houle servicesYour experience and skills
A current IBEW member or willing to become one3+ years' experience in onsite installation and commissioning of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) control systemsPrevious field experience in the construction industryMechanical or Electrical Engineering degree/diploma or certification an assetExperience with networking, setting up windows server, configuring routers and switchesKnowledge of control system design and electrical control system wiring methodsMechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree/DiplomaWorking knowledge of Reliable Control and/or Schneider Eco Struxure productWell organized team player with strong interpersonal and customer service skillsAble to speak, read and write English fluently, flexible and able to multi-task in a changing, fast-paced environmentMust be a member of the IBEW 213 Union or willing to become one. All hiring is subject to IBEW 213's dispatch process.
Salary range: Compensation through the IBEW 213 Collective Agreement plus great benefits and pension.
