Become a Power Quality Engineer with BC Hydro, focusing on Distribution Standards while resolving power quality issues across the province. This hybrid position includes travel and diverse technical engagement.
BC Hydro is seeking a Power Quality Engineer with a solid electrical engineering background to tackle issues in both Distribution and Transmission systems. You will engage in fieldwork and office responsibilities, ensuring safety while addressing customer concerns. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of power system analysis and quality management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to safety culture by managing electrical hazards
• Travel throughout BC for investigations and customer interactions
• Communicate clearly with customers and technical teams
• Gather and analyze extensive power system data
• Work with PQView software for data analysis
Requirements:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) eligibility in BC
• 4+ years of engineering experience
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication capabilities
