Contract Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension

Pay Rate: $65.60/hour (T4) or $76.25/hour (Incorporated)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Deployment Project Manager to lead the Solutions Deployment (SD) scope for major Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling projects. This role is responsible for overseeing all deployment-related technical, planning, scheduling, and budgetary aspects of the project lifecycle.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Solution Engineering Manager, Deployment Team Leaders, and other stakeholders, the Deployment Project Manager will ensure successful project execution while maintaining compliance with contractual, operational, and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all Solutions Deployment (SD) activities for assigned CBTC signalling projects.
  • Define, plan, and oversee SD work scope, priorities, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate deployment activities with SD Team Leaders, project teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Reconcile detailed deployment planning inputs with overall project schedules and objectives.
  • Foster collaboration and strong working relationships across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Develop and maintain deployment plans, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate deployment-related project risks to minimize cost and schedule impacts.
  • Conduct deployment reviews with internal teams and customers.
  • Ensure deployment trade-off analyses appropriately consider cost, schedule, and technical impacts.
  • Support bid and proposal activities through the development of Deployment Management Plans.
Technical Oversight
  • Ensure infrastructure design activities remain contract-compliant and align with project budgets, schedules, and migration strategies.
  • Provide oversight of deployment-related technical activities and ensure alignment across engineering, installation, testing, and commissioning teams.
  • Approve site testing and acceptance activities when required in the absence of a Test & Commissioning Manager.
  • Promote effective communication and integration across departments to ensure accurate information flow throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder & Business Management
  • Interface with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to support timely acquisition of project materials and services.
  • Provide regular project status updates and reports to senior management.
  • Support contract compliance, project profitability, and successful customer outcomes.
  • Build and maintain a collaborative environment among internal and external deployment stakeholders while ensuring adherence to company processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) is considered an asset.
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the design, deployment, and delivery of CBTC signalling projects.
  • Proven experience managing complex rail transportation or signalling projects.
  • Strong project management experience with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering and deployment environments.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of CBTC systems, systems engineering principles, and rail signalling technologies.
  • Knowledge of safety-critical hardware and software design processes.
  • Experience with project and requirements management tools such as DOORS, JIRA, Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and equivalent platforms.
  • Proficiency with SAP and enterprise project management systems.
  • Experience with bid management and project financial (P&L) management.
  • Familiarity with site mobility tools used for installation, testing, and commissioning activities is considered an asset.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure environments.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams and deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with a focus on execution and results.
