3GA Marine Ltd is a marine engineering and consulting firm providing technical design, project support, and advisory services to the Canadian marine industry.
Position OverviewWe are seeking Senior Naval Architects to support ongoing and upcoming vessel design and refit projects. This is a predominantly office-based role focused on engineering design, analysis, documentation, and project delivery. This position is not sea-going or vessel-based.
Available Positions- One Senior Naval Architect position based in Burnaby, BC
- Lead naval architecture work on vessel new build and refit projects
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Review designs for compliance with regulatory and classification requirements
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate staff
- Support construction phases and attend site visits or surveys as required
- Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve technical issues
- College degree in Naval Architecture or closely related discipline
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in a design office or shipyard environment
- Experience with vessel refits and/or new vessel design
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada, or eligible for registration
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Strong working knowledge of GHS
- Experience with Ship Constructor, Rhino, AutoCAD, or similar marine design software
- Familiarity with hydrostatics, stability, and general vessel arrangements
- Knowledge of Canadian marine regulatory and classification frameworks
