QAI Laboratories seeks a dedicated Project Specialist for fire resistance testing in Burnaby, BC. In this role, you’ll lead testing setups, conduct assessments, and prepare detailed reports for compliance.
As a key member of the QAI team, you will independently perform fire resistance and building system testing while managing multiple projects. Strong expertise in firestop and non-combustibility testing standards like CAN/ULC S101 and UL 10B/10C is vital. You will also mentor junior staff and ensure adherence to quality compliance and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Lead fire resistance and firestop testing per industry standards
- Conduct unsupervised testing and data analysis accurately
- Troubleshoot technical issues during setup and testing
- Support internal and external audits for QMS compliance
- Provide technical mentorship to junior staff
- Technical diploma or degree in related field
- 3+ years experience in construction or laboratory testing
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Solid problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license required
