AECOM is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our growing Water team. This role can be based out of our office in Burnaby, or Victoria, British Columbia. This role is well suited for a motivated professional with a solid foundation in civil design, construction, contract administration, and a strong interest in municipal linear infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of stormwater, water, and wastewater conveyance infrastructure for municipal clients, working closely with multidisciplinary project teams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Design of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater /drainage conveyance facilities
- Writing of technical memorandums and reports
- Performing construction inspections
Preparing documentation for design projects and reports - Assisting with the preparation of construction cost estimates
- Assisting with the preparation of project specifications and contract documents
- Supporting and mentorship of junior staff members
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in design and construction of stormwater, water, and wastewater conveyance infrastructure
- Registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC or in another Canadian province
- 4 years of post-graduate experience
- Experience in civil engineering, hydraulic modelling, planning, and design construction inspection
- Working knowledge of contract documentation including MMCD and CCDC
- Working knowledge of water / wastewater / drainage conveyance infrastructure in a Municipal environment
- Working knowledge of blue and green infrastructure: ponds, wetlands, bioswales, rain gardens, etc.
- Excellent written skills needed for technical reports
- Valid BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients
- Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment
