Jacobs is expanding our team to tackle the complexities of transportation decarbonization for some of the largest fleet operators in the world.
We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Senior Transportation Facilities Design Lead who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running on time and within budget. Based in the Greater Vancouver Area, you’ll manage exciting infrastructure projects focused on zero‑emissions transportation, specifically maintenance and operation facilities. You will engage with existing clients and support pursuits for new work.
As a key contact with clients, you’ll ensure overall work progress and technical performance on projects. You will manage teams in completing required activities, including facility assessments, transportation planning, building space programming, site selection, facility concept development, building design, and field inspections. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance equipment (rail, bus, or other vehicles) and transportation operations is useful but not mandatory.
Here’s what you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, urban planning, civil, mechanical or industrial engineering (or equivalent experience)
- P.Eng. or other relevant professional designation aligned with your professional focus area.
- At least 15 years’ experience in professional consulting, at a transportation agency, or in another relevant environment including at least 5 years managing a team
- Strong technical, design, and project management skills in relevant areas including operation and maintenance facilities design, construction, renovation, and/or operations
- Familiarity with zero‑emissions transportation technology is a plus
- Progressive design‑build delivery experience is a plus
- Excellent communication, time management and report writing skills
- Great mentorship and leadership skills
The base salary range for this position is $ to $. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
