As a Systems Analytics Engineer, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary engineering team, working across the electrical, software, biomedical algorithms & research, usability, and risk management domains. Your daily activities will center around supporting product design and process development by performing system analysis activities and leading investigations into software and electrical system behaviour, as well as developing and maintaining related software tools.
Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing behavior of the system to assess robustness, stability, and correct implementation
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining system analysis software tools
- Investigating issues identified during verification and during clinical use of the device
- Developing and documenting software and algorithms for R&D product features
- Informing system level software and electrical specifications of the product
- Becoming familiar with and staying current on relevant medical device standards and regulations
- Working closely with software, electrical, and biomedical research teams to improve analysis methods and inform future designs
What you bring to the team
You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science
- Experience with electrical and software systems design. Mechanical systems knowledge is a plus
- Experience with signal processing and large data‑set analysis
- Experience with Java, MATLAB, and C is preferred
- Practical knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements and standards such as IEC 60601, IEC 62304, and/or ISO 13485 is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- High degree of drive and motivation
Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% Retirement Savings Plan contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
- $75,000 - $102,000 (CAD Annually)
The total cash we’ve listed for this position includes a base salary, plus an annual contribution to a Retirement Savings Plan account to help support your financial goals.
