Electrical Engineer Substations

Position: Electrical Engineer for Substations at Stantec
Drive clean energy solutions as an Electrical Engineer at Stantec’s Power team in Burnaby, BC. Work on innovative HV/EHV substation projects in a dynamic hybrid environment.

This role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to design reliable substations across North America. You will oversee engineering studies, perform detailed designs, and mentor junior engineers. Your contributions will help modernize electric grids and enhance infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering studies for power flow and grounding

• Conduct detailed substation design and layouts

• Prepare specifications for major equipment

• Provide technical support throughout procurement and construction

• Mentor junior engineers and support project planning

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems specialization

• Minimum 6 years of experience in high voltage substations

• Proficiency with PSSE, PSCAD, or similar software

• Strong interpersonal skills for interdisciplinary collaboration

• P.Eng registration required
