Transmission Equipment Engineering Manager

Lead BC Hydro’s Transmission Equipment Division in Burnaby, British Columbia. This hybrid role emphasizes managing staff, technical innovation, and regulatory compliance within a utility-based engineering environment.

As the Transmission Equipment Engineering Division Manager, you will oversee approximately 50 professionals in critical sub-disciplines including station equipment, mechanical design, and project engineering. With over 15 years of utility engineering experience, you will guide a skilled team while ensuring operational effectiveness. Your leadership will include developing staff competencies and maintaining relationships across various engineering and operational divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the Transmission Engineering Division

• Develop business plans and budget strategizing for resource use

• Foster team collaboration on complex engineering deliverables

• Ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards

• Maintain relationships with vendors and external engineering services

Requirements:

• P.Eng registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)

• Minimum 15 years in utility-based engineering

• At least 8 years in people management

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Familiarity with transmission engineering tools and processes
