This position is key to designing, implementing, and managing telecom infrastructures vital for utility operations across B.C. From leading design processes to ensuring adherence to engineering standards, your contributions will have a significant impact. Work in a state-of-the-art lab to test next-gen systems and support modern connectivity solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee design and reliability of telecom systems
• Act as Owner’s Engineer for service provider submissions
• Manage IP/MPLS architecture, including configuration
• Conduct engineering studies to resolve telecom issues
• Collaborate with construction teams for on-site support
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in electrical or computer engineering
• P.Eng. status or EIT registration with EGBC
• 8+ years of telecom design experience
• Knowledge of security and traffic engineering
• Excellent verbal and technical writing abilities
Contribute to BC Hydro’s telecommunication innovations and ensure high standards of performance and reliability.
