Telecom Engineer – High Voltage Substations

Stantec is looking for a Telecom Engineer to play a critical role in designing telecom systems for high-voltage substations in Burnaby and Calgary. This position emphasizes innovative solutions to enhance utility infrastructure.

In this role, you will focus on developing circuit documentation and designing telecom networks. You will ensure security and reliability for real-time grid operations while preparing engineering reports that meet client requirements. Collaboration with various teams will be key to delivering integrated solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create telecom designs to support utility communication

• Prepare installation and construction documentation

• Execute design calculations for telecom systems

• Provide QA/QC for engineering deliverables

• Interface with clients for technical guidance

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

• Eligible as an Engineer-in-Training with EGBC

• 2+ years of relevant telecom experience

• Familiarity with telecom technologies and protocols

• Strong communication and organizational skills
