Job Description
AECOM is searching for a Water Resources Engineering EIT for a new role based in our Burnaby, BC office.
The ideal successful candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience working on stormwater design projects and a general understanding of civil construction. They will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and clients. They will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and drive, energy, and enthusiasm for getting things done.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the delivery of water resources infrastructure mostly to municipal, provincial, and mining sector clients.
- Design of civil systems associated with stormwater facilities
- Writing of technical memorandums and reports
- Performing construction inspections and field review memorandums
- Preparing documentation for design projects and reports
- Assisting with the preparation of construction cost estimates
- Assisting with the preparation of project specifications and contract documents
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- 1+ years of relevant experience in stormwater infrastructure design
- Eligible for registration as an EIT with EGBC
- Master’s Degree in Water Resources
- Experience in civil engineering, hydraulic modelling, planning, design and construction inspection
- Experience with Civil3D, PCSWMM and ArcGIS software
- Working knowledge of contract documentation, including MMCD and CCDC/NMS
- Working knowledge of green infrastructure: ponds, wetlands, bioswales, rain gardens, etc.
- Working knowledge of stormwater infrastructure in a Municipal environment, with the Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MOTT) and in the Mining sector
- Excellent written skills needed for technical reports
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Valid BC Class V Driver’s License
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients
- Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Relocation is not available for this position.
