Hardware Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hardware Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and validation of complex electronic circuits for our next-generation products. A strong focus is on both analog and digital circuit design, requiring hands-on lab proficiency and excellent collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design and validate foundational analog circuits, including active and passive filters, amplifiers, level shifters, voltage translation circuits, and multiplexing solutions.
Develop and implement digital and logical electronics circuits as required for system functionality and control.
Utilize Cadence Capture and Allegro for professional-grade schematic capture and PCB layout design (layout guidance and review).
Ensure successful system integration through proficient familiarity with serial communication buses, including I2C, SPI, eSPI, QSPI, LPC, and UART.
Ensure the correct PCB implementation of the serial communication buses, including I2C, SPI, eSPI, QSPI, LPC, and UART. Validate the layout implementation, focusing on proper analog and digital connection routing, power/ground plane design, and component placement.
Perform hands-on characterization and debugging using advanced lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, frequency response analyzers (FRA), RLC meters, Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), and signal generators.
Work closely with firmware, mechanical, and software teams to define requirements, resolve integration issues, and ensure product success across all disciplines.
Required Qualifications
The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $92,300- $112,800 annually, plus RSUs. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience. All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program.
Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company’s discretion.
