Designer Engineer

Position Overview

Designer I – Burnaby, BC. Assist in the design and order processing of centrifugal pumps, components, and equipment within Sulzer’s Engineering Department. Immediate opening for a junior‑level engineer.

• Assist in design and order processing of centrifugal pumps, components, and equipment.
• Prepare engineering drawings using CAD (Inventor, AutoCAD, Siemens NX, Medusa).
• Provide engineering drawing control with Teamcenter.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials within SAP.
• Perform stress analysis as required.
• Coordinate with suppliers and other departments to clarify design requirements.
• Assign and check the work of others, and prepare design reports or notes.
• Handle special engineering tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Support and comply with the company‑wide EHS Management System.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a diploma in Mechanical Design Technology.
• One to two years of experience in a design and manufacturing environment.
• Experience with SAP and Teamcenter is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

This is a permanent position; the primary work location is an office with occasional exposure to the manufacturing workshop.
