Specialist Engineer, P&C Commissioning

Join BC Hydro as a Specialist Engineer in Protection & Control Commissioning. This full-time, permanent role based in Burnaby offers exciting challenges in the electrical engineering field.

In this position, you will verify and approve Protection & Control systems for safe and compliant grid operations. Lead testing and commissioning efforts while collaborating with a variety of teams. With your expertise, you will develop and maintain commissioning standards and best practices, while occasionally traveling to project sites throughout British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as Professional of Record for commissioning results

• Oversee technical guidance during commissioning

• Participate in meetings and technical presentations

• Review test results and validate field tests

• Collaborate with Quality Management and Field Operations

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer

• 10+ years’ experience in relevant fields

• 4+ years leading P&C projects

• Familiarity with BC Hydro practices is an advantage
