• Conduct environmental assessments and prepare reports that evaluate the impact of projects on local ecosystems and communities.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop strategies that ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
• Assist in the design and implementation of environmental monitoring programs to track the effectiveness of mitigation measures.
• Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, clients, and community members, to communicate project goals and gather feedback.
• Analyze data collected from environmental studies and present findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents required for project approval.
• Stay updated on current environmental legislation and best practices to ensure that Binnie remains at the forefront of industry standards.
• Participate in fieldwork, including site assessments and monitoring activities, to gather essential data for project development.
• Contribute to the development of sustainability initiatives that align with Binnie's commitment to environmental stewardship.
• Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on environmental practices and methodologies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into all phases of project planning and execution.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders to communicate project updates and environmental impacts effectively.

• A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements in British Columbia.
• Proficiency in environmental assessment methodologies and data analysis techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Experience with project management and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

• A master's degree in a relevant field is an asset.
• Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other environmental modeling software.
• Certification as an Environmental Professional (EP) or similar designation.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis software.
• Experience with environmental monitoring equipment and field sampling techniques.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• This position is based in Burnaby, British Columbia, and may require occasional travel to project sites.
