Design Engineer II – L.B. Foster Railroad Solutions

Elevate your career as a Mechanical Engineer II at L.B. Foster, specializing in onboard solutions for the railroad industry. You'll be pivotal in the design and development of innovative mechanical systems.

Working within the Friction Management division, you will leverage your Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering degree to design electro-mechanical solutions.

Your role includes design validation, client interaction, and support for manufacturing. This position requires proficiency in CAD modeling, particularly in Solid Works, and presents opportunities for fieldwork and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and design mechanical systems for trains

• Conduct FEA modeling and prototypes for validation

• Create detailed drawings and specifications

• Assist in manufacturing quality assurance

• Manage trials and installations of systems

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering

• 2 to 4 years of mechanical design expertise

• EIT with EGBC or eligibility for registration

• CAD experience, preferably with Solid Works

• Willing to travel up to 25%
