Position Overview
Kiewit is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to play a key role in the design and delivery of complex hydropower, dam, and hydraulic structure projects across North America.
As a key member of Kiewit’s Hydropower, Dams, and Hydraulic Structures (HDH) team, you will contribute to the planning and constructable design of balance-of-plant mechanical systems for major infrastructure projects, including traditional and pumped-storage hydropower facilities.
You will collaborate closely with Design Engineers as well as other discipline teams (structural, electrical, hydrotechnical) to provide various design services to internal groups for the development of HDH projects.

Location
This position is based out of Oakville, ON or Burnaby, BC.
Remote or hybrid work arrangements may be considered.
Occasional travel will be required.
Responsibilities
Support the mechanical systems design for HDH projects in coordination with the existing Kiewit design teams as needed (structural, electrical, etc.)
Lead the preparation of mechanical design deliverables, including drawings, lists and schedules in coordination with mechanical engineers.
Provide design input and advice based on experience and knowledge of industry best practices.
Support in the preparation and coordination HDH mechanical design packages
Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams, construction personnel, and external design partners.
Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate designers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
