Lead transportation design from Burnaby with Binnie, using highway engineering expertise and multidisciplinary project management skills. Serve as Engineer of Record on alternative delivery assignments.
As a Civil Design Engineer in Binnie’s Alternative Design Services Division, you will manage transportation projects from conceptual through detailed design. The position requires strong transportation engineering experience, technical leadership, and familiarity with applicable design guides, codes, and client standards. You will collaborate with specialized disciplines, clients, Project Managers, and external stakeholders while supporting quality management.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage multidisciplinary highway engineering projects and specialized sub-disciplines
- Lead conceptual and detailed transportation design development
- Prepare contract documents, cost estimates, calculations, and tender support
- Serve as Engineer of Record and seal technical documents
- Review deliverables, guide staff, and mentor EITs and Co-Op Students
- Minimum seven years’ related transportation engineering experience
- Registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary transportation design management
- Strong AutoCAD and Civil3D design review experience
- Strong communication, accuracy, time management, and deadline skills
