Location: New Westminster
Join the Building Division in New Westminster as an Auxiliary Building Official. This part-time role focuses on field inspections and plan reviews to ensure community safety.
The City of New Westminster is seeking a Level 3 Building Official with significant field inspection experience. You will work two days a week within the Planning & Development team, providing vital inspection services and ensuring compliance with building codes. Your efforts will support the community's health and welfare while collaborating with various stakeholders throughout the building process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct field inspections and plan reviews
• Ensure compliance with building codes and standards
• Liaise with partners in the building process
• Provide guidance on building regulations
• Support delivery of mandated core services
Requirements:
• BOABC Level 3 Certification required
• Minimum 5-8 years of building official experience
• Completion of relevant diploma or trades apprenticeship
• Driver’s license for BC required
• Must pass Police Information Check
