Location: New Westminster
Join the City of New Westminster as a Building Official 3 and leverage your extensive inspection experience. This full-time position involves critical field inspections, ensuring safety and compliance for the community.
You will handle inspections and plan reviews for Part 3 and Part 9 buildings as part of the Building Division of the Planning & Development team.
Your role is vital for enforcing building codes, providing guidance, and fostering relationships with stakeholders in the building process. Your expertise will support the city's esteemed reputation and strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough building inspections and plan reviews
• Enforce compliance with applicable building codes
• Serve as a liaison with project partners throughout inspections
• Collaborate closely with the development team
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings
Requirements:
• Level 3 BOABC Certification is a must
• 5-8 years of experience in field inspections required
• Proven ability in inspecting Part 3 buildings
• Valid BC Driver’s license needed
• Successful completion of a Police Information Check
