Based in the Negotiations Department, you will oversee classification appeals and serve as an expert resource for union members and leadership.
Your role includes developing proposals related to job evaluation plans and ensuring that classifications are adhered to fairly across the board. Command of grievance handling and classification processes is vital for this influential position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Investigate and advise members on classification grievances
• Represent union interests in grievance hearings
• Maintain job evaluation plans and related agreements
• Craft strategies for collective agreements
• Train staff on classification issues and evaluation criteria
Requirements:
• Proven experience in grievance handling and classification
• Familiarity with collective agreements and contract language
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and manage communications
• B.C. Driver's License is mandatory
