Impact the City of New Westminster as a Senior Development Planner, addressing key planning challenges in a hybrid work environment. Collaborate closely with community stakeholders to support urban development.
As part of the Planning and Development team, you will manage the review and processing of complex development projects and work on policy updates.
Your role also includes preparing documents for Council and mentoring junior staff while ensuring high-quality development aligns with the city’s vision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee complex development application reviews
• Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders
• Develop planning policies and bylaw amendments
• Guide presentations for Council and community groups
• Contribute to development process improvement initiatives
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related discipline
• Significant experience in development planning
• Full membership or eligibility with Canadian Institute of Planners
• Strong knowledge of municipal planning principles
• Proven skills in stakeholder engagement and communication
