Location: New Westminster
Become a Bylaw Compliance Officer with the City of New Westminster, focusing on community engagement and regulatory enforcement. This position supports vibrant living through education and compliance efforts.
The City of New Westminster seeks two community-focused professionals for its Bylaw Services team. In this non-uniform role, you will utilize your expertise in inspection, investigation, and regulatory processes to address a wide range of municipal bylaws. Your strong communication skills will facilitate relationships with community groups and help uphold compliance while promoting a resilient urban environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Investigate and resolve municipal bylaw complaints and inquiries
• Conduct proactive inspections to ensure compliance
• Provide educational outreach to promote voluntary compliance
• Prepare documentation and evidence for legal proceedings
• Administer the Bylaw Offence Notice Program
Requirements:
• Grade 12 completion with relevant enforcement courses
• Experience in inspection and enforcement work
• Ability to interpret and apply bylaws effectively
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Valid Driver’s Licence for British Columbia
