Join the City of New Westminster as a Municipal Bylaw Officer focused on fostering community compliance. This position offers a chance to engage in inspections, investigations, and enforcement of essential bylaws.
As part of the Bylaw Services team, you will balance education with enforcement to support the city’s vision.
Your role will involve addressing property use, tenant-related issues, and municipal regulations, requiring independence and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and resolve reports related to municipal bylaws
• Conduct inspections for bylaw compliance
• Educate community members and stakeholders
• Prepare documentation for legal proceedings
• Aid in drafting and revising bylaws
Requirements:
• High school diploma and enforcement training
• Familiarity with bylaws and regulations
• Skillful complaint resolution and communication
• Organizational abilities for managing caseloads
• Valid Driver’s Licence for British Columbia
