Laboratory Assistant at LifeLabs

Life Labs is looking for a Laboratory Assistant in Burnaby, BC, to join our team and directly enhance patient care. This part-time role focuses on specimen collection and requires skills in phlebotomy and customer service for optimal patient experiences.

In this Laboratory Assistant position, you'll be responsible for greeting patients and facilitating the specimen collection process. This role emphasizes the importance of communication and interpersonal skills while complying with confidentiality standards required in healthcare. Prepare specimens for transport and engage with clients to provide excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist patients during specimen collection

• Conduct phlebotomies and ECG tracings proficiently

• Perform special test collections and handle documentation

• Respond to patient inquiries and maintain client relationships

• Enter patient data accurately in systems

Requirements:

• Medical Laboratory Assistant program completion or equivalent

• Prior experience in phlebotomy and healthcare

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team

• Maintain strict standards of patient privacy
