Make a meaningful impact as an Acute Care Social Worker at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. Contribute to life-saving care through clinical counseling and patient support.
In this role under the Health Services Manager, you will deliver therapeutic counseling services in areas such as Oncology and Cardiology while conducting psycho-social assessments. You’ll collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate effective services and enhance care continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide therapeutic counseling for patients and families
• Conduct comprehensive psycho-social assessments
• Educate regarding adaptation to illness and community resources
• Maintain accurate patient records adhering to standards
• Lead interdisciplinary care planning sessions and meetings
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Social Work with two years of experience
• Full registration with BC College of Social Workers
• Strong communication skills with patients and families
• Ability to prioritize in complex environments
• Experience in conducting research activities
