Mental Health Care Worker at Fraser Health

Location: New Westminster

Contribute to patient recovery as a Mental Health Care Worker with Fraser Health in British Columbia. Support psychosocial rehabilitation and ensure patient safety in various care activities.

As a Mental Health Care Worker, you will work closely under the supervision of Registered Nurses to provide essential care and support for patients during their rehabilitation and daily activities.

Your role includes personal care, monitoring patients, and facilitating their participation in activities while maintaining a safe environment. Additionally, you'll assist with meal times, transport patients, and report observations to the nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and hygiene

• Monitor patients during meals and support feeding

• Transport patients to off-site appointments safely

• Participate in unit orientation for new patients and staff

• Record patient observations for nursing staff

Requirements:

• Completion of recognized Mental Health Care Worker program

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to organize work efficiently

• Physical capability to perform job duties
