Therapeutic Recreation Associate Position

Join Nova Scotia Health as a Therapeutic Recreation Associate focusing on mental health and addictions care. Deliver crucial support and tailored interventions for a diverse client base.

In this full-time role, you will report to the Health Services Manager and collaborate with a Recreation Therapist to conduct assessments and plan activities. Your efforts will focus on improving the holistic functioning of clients through recreation and leisure development in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments for therapeutic recreation

• Implement and evaluate recreation programs

• Provide therapeutic interventions to individuals and groups

• Facilitate collaboration with multidisciplinary teams

• Adapt programs based on client needs

Requirements:

• Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited institution

• Standard First Aid and BCLS certifications required

• Experience with cognitive and physical disabilities

• Flexibility to adapt skills for diverse populations

• French language skills are an asset
