As a Support Worker at Extendicare, you will provide essential care to seniors, following care plans set by supervisors. This role includes supporting residents in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, and enhancing their mental and emotional well-being. Strong communication skills and a focus on client needs are crucial for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate residents' transfers and mobility as needed
• Observe and report on residents' care with appropriate forms
• Provide personal care and assist with meal preparation
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information
• Engage with external agencies for resident support
Requirements:
• Completion of Personal Support Worker program or equivalent
• Experience in community health services with seniors
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
• Strong customer-focused interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle specific lifting and transferring tasks
