About our Community Care Program.

Our Community Care Program delivers client-centred occupational therapy services in home and community settings across British Columbia, supporting individuals to live safely, independently, and meaningfully in their own environments. Services are provided through contracts with key provincial and community stakeholders, in collaboration with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Occupational Therapists in our Community Care Program play a vital role in enabling participation in daily activities, supporting chronic disease management, aging in place, mental health, and recovery following illness or injury. Our program values professional autonomy, collaboration, and innovation, offering OTs the opportunity to build strong therapeutic relationships, exercise clinical judgment, and make a tangible impact in the communities they serve.

Your impact

You will provide community-based occupational therapy services across home, hospital, and workplace environments, supporting clients through assessment, treatment, and return-to-work planning.

  • Hospital discharge planning and community reintegration
  • OT assessments, treatment, and functional intervention for return to work and return to function
  • Equipment prescription and recommendations
  • Job site visits, ergonomic assessments, and Job Demands Analyses (JDAs)
  • Return-to-work (RTW) and gradual RTW planning
  • Physical Capacity Assessments (PCAs) and Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)
  • Chronic pain, mental health, and concussion support
  • PGAP and complex medical assessments
Are you the right fit?

As one of the largest networks of OTs in the nation, you will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, delivering high-quality, client-centered care across multiple clinics, or specific clinic and community settings. Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
  • 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred
  • Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle required
  • In some cases, Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check
  • In some cases, Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)
Other Requirements:
  • Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
  • Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Bilingualism - French and English are assets.
