Match Box Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager for our client, a leading public sector organization delivering large-scale infrastructure and utility services across the province.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to business process transformation initiatives within a complex, regulated environment. The successful candidate will lead low- to medium-risk projects focused on process improvement, data analytics, and operational efficiency.

Position Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for delivering business process change initiatives safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and apply structured project management principles to ensure successful implementation.

Location: Burnaby

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and report on business process improvement initiatives.

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, risk registers, communication plans, action logs, and status reports.

  • Monitor project benefits, resources, risks, and performance throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Lead cross-functional teams and facilitate collaboration across departments.

  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Drive internal process improvements and efficiency initiatives.

  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable visual insights for stakeholders.

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders through effective communication and reporting.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience or equivalent.

  • Experience leading internal process improvement initiatives across teams/departments.

  • Proven experience mapping and redesigning business processes.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

  • Advanced data analytics experience (Tableau, SAS, SAP, Excel).

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI).

  • Ability to manage ambiguity, adapt to change, and handle multiple priorities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Science, or related discipline.

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
  • PMP® designation.

  • Experience with SAP BW.

  • Knowledge of SAS data preparation.

  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 and basic scheduling.

  • Understanding of advanced statistics and enterprise databases.

  • Knowledge of project or contract management lifecycles.

  • Professional designation in Engineering, Business, or related field.

  • Knowledge of engineering disciplines within Generation, Distribution, or Transmission environments.

  • Experience with Power BI, Python, SQL.

  • Process improvement certifications (Lean, Six Sigma).

  • Strategic mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
