Match Box Consulting Group is seeking a Technical Writer for one of British Columbia’s largest utility providers.
This opportunity is ideal for a skilled technical writer who can translate complex engineering, safety, and operational information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. The successful candidate will work with subject matter experts to develop technical content, procedures, manuals, and program materials while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and effective communication for a variety of audiences.
Key Responsibilities- Research, write, edit, and maintain technical documentation and communication materials.
- Develop instruction manuals, procedures, program materials, journal articles, and supporting documentation.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable content.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and communications teams to gather information and ensure accuracy.
- Maintain document control, version management, and content organization standards.
- Support the development of materials that align with corporate branding and communication standards.
- Assist with document layout, formatting, and visual presentation.
- Minimum 3 years of technical writing experience in areas such as engineering, safety, operations, or other technical environments.
- Experience preparing instruction manuals, technical documents, procedures, and supporting materials.
- Experience developing safety procedures and program documentation.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Writing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Advanced written and verbal English communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Advanced Adobe software skills.
- Ability to provide a relevant writing portfolio demonstrating technical writing experience.
- Utility sector experience.
- Graphic design skills.
- Experience working with engineering, technical, or operational subject matter experts.
- Hybrid work arrangement preferred, with flexibility for remote candidates located across Canada who can work Pacific Time hours.
- Collaborative environment supporting technical, engineering, and operational teams.
