POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, Business Applications Development or Manager, Data Analytics and Integration, the BI and Data Integration Developer is responsible for designing and developing data analytics and integration solutions for both internal and external audiences. He/She/They perform all tasks associated with the solution development life cycle, ensuring all deliverables meet the established specifications, integrity, and quality standards. The position provides 2nd level support primarily for the HIFIS (Homeless Individuals and Families Information System) program developing and maintaining Crystal reports;
including tunning reports for optimal performance, developing SQL queries for complex data requests, facilitating the resolution of integration issues between source and target applications, and working with data from multiple confidential business systems, including HR, payroll, and client management systems.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, computer science or other relevant fields.Considerable experience in small to medium projects interacting with project managers, business analysts, application development team members and users.Considerable experience in reporting application development, and data warehouse development projects.Sound experience in enterprise reporting, BI toolsets, and data integration.Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the employer.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Sound knowledge of BI architecture, full lifecycle BI and integration development.Sound knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT design patterns.Ability to translate business requirements into user-friendly analytic modelsAbility to work effectively both independently as well as part of a larger team of business users and analystsAbility to take ownership of tasks and drive them through to completionAbility and experience in working under pressure to meet changing deadlines due to shifting prioritiesAbility to identify, describe and resolve technical issuesAbility to present information effectively during presentations, demonstrations and project meetingsAbility to deal with confidential information using judgment and discretionGood BI design and development skills, and data modelling, data integration, and data analysis skillsStrong systems analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal communication skillsExcellent technical writing skills to effectively complete requirements, design and operational documentsGood interpersonal, organizational and project leadership skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsCriminal Record Check (Tier
