Location: New Westminster

Lead the cyber security initiatives for the City of New Westminster, BC, as the Manager of Information Security. This pivotal role emphasizes building security strategies and practices across various city departments.

In this exempt full-time position, you will guide the City’s information security strategy while collaborating with IT teams and stakeholders. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership, focusing on protecting municipal data and systems. Candidates should have a strong background in cybersecurity and be passionate about continuous improvement, risk management, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and advance city-wide information security strategy

• Lead security operations including detection and response

• Collaborate on security best practices across IT functions

• Oversee cyber incident response and investigations

• Coordinate security awareness training initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

• Minimum 7 years of progressive IT experience

• At least 5 years in cybersecurity services

• Experience in public sector is preferred

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
