Key Responsibilities

As the Commercial Account Executive
, you will drive business growth by developing new client relationships and delivering tailored insurance solutions that protect and support commercial operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Business Development & Client Acquisition:
    Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective commercial clients through networking, referrals, and targeted outreach.
  • Identify client needs and present customized insurance strategies that align with their risk exposures and business objectives.
  • Sales & Portfolio Management:
    Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and proposal development through negotiation and policy binding.
  • Maintain and grow a portfolio of commercial clients by providing ongoing support, coverage reviews, and renewal strategies.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    Build trusted, long-term relationships with business owners and key stakeholders by providing responsive and knowledgeable service.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to clients by proactively identifying coverage gaps and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Internal & Carrier

    Collaboration:

    Partner closely with underwriting, service, and administrative teams to deliver seamless client experiences.
  • Work with insurance carrier partners to negotiate competitive terms and ensure optimal coverage solutions for clients.
  • Market Awareness & Industry Knowledge:
    Stay informed on insurance market conditions, regulatory changes, and emerging industry trends.
  • Continuously develop product knowledge to effectively position solutions and strengthen advisory capabilities.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:

Education & Experience:

  • A background in insurance, business, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial insurance sales, account management, or a related client-facing role.

Technical

Skills:

  • Active Level 2 insurance licence in British Columbia or Alberta (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office; experience with Applied EPIC is considered an asset.

  • A results-driven mindset with the ability to develop new business opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
