Position: Turnaround Event Planning Intern (8-Month Term) September 2026

Overview

As of November 1, 2025, Sunoco LP has successfully completed its acquisition of Parkland Corporation. Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 32 countries and territories in North America, the Greater Caribbean, and Europe. The partnership’s midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 14,000 miles of pipeline and over 160 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the partnership’s fuel distribution operations, which distribute over 15 billion gallons annually to approximately 11,000 Sunoco and partner‑branded retail locations, as well as independent dealers and commercial customers.

Starting Salary: $26.50-$36.00/hour

Opportunity

The Turnaround Event Planning Intern will support the refinery Turnaround (TA) team in planning large‑scale maintenance events. This role provides hands‑on exposure to large‑scale shutdown planning and scheduling in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Turnaround Event Manager with staff planning, turnaround execution plans and training plans.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining turnaround work scope, schedules, and task tracking tools.
  • Help prepare planning documents, reports, and readiness reviews.
  • Participate in field walkdowns to validate scope and readiness.
  • Participate in core team meetings and readiness reviews.
  • Assist with turnaround improvements and lesson‑learned initiatives from past events.
Education
  • Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Process/Chemical Technology, Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with scheduling software is an asset.
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated interest in industrial operations, maintenance, or project execution.
