Drive critical procurement projects as a Buyer I within Burnaby’s Procurement and Real Estate Services department. Utilize your expertise in public procurement to yield operational improvements.
This role at 4515 Central Boulevard requires a detail-oriented professional capable of managing end-to-end public solicitations. As a Buyer I, you will assist in preparing vendor criteria, analyze bids for suitability, and negotiate favorable terms. You'll work collaboratively with client departments to ensure procurement excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and distribute procurement specifications effectively
• Analyze bid proposals for pricing and quality evaluations
• Negotiate terms with suppliers to obtain best value
• Maintain purchasing records and statistical reports
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers for procurement needs
Requirements:
• High school completion with purchasing program courses
• Understanding of municipal purchasing dynamics
• Strong negotiation skills and contract knowledge
• Proficient in market condition evaluation
• Possession of a valid Driver's Licence in British Columbia
