Supply Chain Professional

Location: Surrey, BC (Hybrid)
Duration: 24-Month Contract

Match Box Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Professional to support one of British Columbia's largest utility providers. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement and sourcing professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys managing end-to-end public procurement initiatives that support critical infrastructure and materials management operations.

In this role, you'll help develop and execute sourcing strategies, lead competitive procurement processes, and work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver best-value procurement solutions while ensuring compliance with public procurement policies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sourcing and category management strategies.

  • Lead and support competitive procurement processes from planning through contract award.

  • Prepare procurement documents including RFPs, RFQs, RFTs, RFIs, RFSQs, and related contracting documentation.

  • Recommend procurement models and sourcing approaches for a variety of goods and services.

  • Conduct supplier and market research to identify opportunities, risks, and best-value solutions.

  • Evaluate proposals, participate in negotiations, and support contract awards and supplier relationship management.

  • Identify sourcing risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

  • Provide regular reporting on procurement initiatives and escalate risks where appropriate.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement processes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 5 years of procurement, sourcing, or category management experience.

  • Experience managing public-sector procurement initiatives and competitive sourcing processes.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, contract law, and competitive bidding practices.

  • Experience preparing and managing RFx documents.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Provincial government or broader public-sector sourcing experience.

  • Experience using SAP, including SAP S/4

    HANA.

  • Experience purchasing inventory and supporting materials management operations.

  • SCMP designation or equivalent professional certification.

  • Experience working within a utility, Crown corporation, or large infrastructure organization.

  • Experience interacting with Indigenous communities or First Nations.

  • Knowledge of supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing best practices.

Work Environment
  • Hybrid position based in Surrey, BC.

  • Minimum two days per week in the office, with additional onsite attendance based on business needs.

  • Occasional travel to other office or project locations may be required.
