Job Overview:
Grizzly Trek is currently seeking one Tank Cleaner to join our Valued Clients team on project-based call-outs in and around Burnaby, BC.

This is a Contract position intended for individuals who understand the realities of heavy industrial work and are prepared for one of the most physically demanding roles on site.

This position requires confined space entry and prolonged work in high-heat environments and is not suitable for individuals uncomfortable with extreme working conditions.

Responsibilities:
Perform manual cleaning of tanks in accordance with all safety and environmental procedures Enter tanks through an 18-inch manway opening to complete cleaning tasks Work for extended periods inside confined spaces Perform duties while wearing full PPE including Tyvek suit, full-face respirator, and rubber boots Safely complete work in hot environments with temperatures ranging from 30–40°C Maintain constant communication with attendants and supervisors during confined space operations Follow all client, site, and Grizzly Trek safety policies without exception

Qualifications:

Must be physically able to fit through an 18-inch manway Must be capable of working in hot, confined spaces for long durations Ability to wear full PPE, including respiratory protection, for extended periods of time Strong physical endurance and mental resilience Willingness to work a project call-out–based schedule Commitment to safe, respectful worksite behaviour

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with confined space entry or industrial cleaning BC First aid or out of jurisdiction ticket, Confined Space Entry, H2S Alive, or related safety certifications (or willingness to obtain) Indigenous applicants are strongly encouraged to apply Work Environment:
Work is performed inside enclosed railcar tanks under high-heat conditions while wearing full protective equipment.

This role is physically and mentally demanding and requires sustained focus, strength, and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Candidates must fully understand that this is difficult work and be prepared for uncomfortable conditions.
