Become a vital member of the City of New Westminster's Arenas team, specializing in maintenance and operational support for urban facilities. Daily duties include janitorial work, operating refrigeration equipment, and assisting the community.

In this role, you will perform operational and building maintenance tasks, including repairs and light construction projects. The ideal candidate will have completed Grade 12 with experience in ice-making and refrigeration operations. Emphasis is placed on effective customer service skills to guide part-time staff and patrons in various facilities and park areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily janitorial duties in facilities and parks

• Operate and maintain refrigeration and resurfacing equipment

• Conduct general repairs and limited construction projects

• Provide guidance and training to part-time staff

• Ensure security responsibilities are upheld

Requirements:

• Completed Grade 12 with technical training preferred

• Valid Refrigeration Safety Awareness certificate

• Experience in heavy lifting and maintenance tasks

• Strong knowledge of ice-making and building maintenance

• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s license
