Location: New Westminster
Become a vital member of the City of New Westminster as a Recreation Worker, focusing on facility maintenance and user engagement. This position is key to ensuring that our community spaces are safe, clean, and welcoming.
In this role, you will support the daily operations of recreation facilities and parks by preparing the environment for a variety of activities. You will interact with community members, assisting with questions and rental inquiries while remaining focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Your responsibilities will include basic repairs and ensuring facilities meet community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare multi-purpose rooms for various activities
• Assist program participants and users with inquiries
• Ensure facility safety and compliance with rules
• Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, floors, and common areas
• Carry out minor maintenance, painting, and repairs
Requirements:
• Experience in recreation facility environments beneficial
• Valid British Columbia Driver's Licence Class 5
• Completion of Occupational First Aid Level 1 and CPR training
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours to meet operational needs
