What the Role
Our client is hiring a new  Director of Sales  who will lead a sales team (mix of internal and external sales reps and account managers) and report into the CEO. This role involves a diverse scope of responsibilities including setting sales goals, building an annual sales strategy and SWOT analysis with the CEO, analyzing existing sales KPIs and putting in place new KPIs, ongoing optimization of sales systems and tools, resolving unique or escalated issues, and providing training and onboarding.

The Director will collaborate closely with leaders of other departments including marketing, product design, customer service, distribution & supply chain, and finance.

Who the Candidate
We are seeking a well‑rounded sales professional with at least 10 years of progressive and relevant work experience, including at least 4 years in a senior people‑management capacity. We are looking for people with fantastic sales skills, knowledge, and intuition who can lead by example. The new Director will inspire their team to join them in seeing an exciting and even more successful vision for the company’s future and figuring out together how a new sales strategy is going to help the organization get there.

B2B sales in the  CPG or retail sector , with multi‑channel sales (mix of brick & mortar and ecommerce).

Experience selling to B2B customers across Canada and the US.

Experience leading a sales team of 2+ direct reports.

Experience leading a mix of internal sales representatives (employees earning salary + bonus) and external sales representatives (freelancers earning only commission) is highly preferred.

Selling for a company that manufactures its own product is preferred.

Working in a variety of company structures is very beneficial (small and large, start‑up and mature, private and public, etc.).

Experience reporting into a C‑suite Executive and/or President and/or Company Founder is preferred.

Where
Headquartered in Greater Vancouver (outside of Vancouver). Ideally the new Director will work full time in‑office or perhaps 4 days/week in‑office and 1 day/week from‑home (please discuss your ideal schedule with Swim Recruiting).

The office environment is busy and upbeat, with employees working side‑by‑side in corporate functions and production functions.

The new Director of Sales must love animals as the company has a dog‑friendly work environment. Bringing your furry companion to work with you every day is encouraged.

How Much
On‑target total annual earnings will be in the range of  $150,000 to $200,000  (this represents total cash compensation, consisting of base salary plus bonuses). Base salary commensurate with sales leadership work experience, skills, and qualifications. Bonus upside will align with overall performance and sales goals achieved. Plus: paid vacation, health benefits, and product discounts.
