Maintenance Team Lead
PNP Pharmaceuticals, established in 1999, is a contract manufacturer of nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, growth‑focused environment.
ShiftMonday to Friday, with on‑call weekends.
Work LocationOn‑site.
Reporting- Reports into Engineering Manager
- Supervises a team of 4 to 6 maintenance mechanics
- Lead and oversee the maintenance team in both technical and people aspects.
- Prioritize and assign tasks for the team, liaising with other departments as needed.
- Set up, dismantle and troubleshoot nutraceutical and pharmaceutical production machines using hand and power tools, including encapsulation, tableting, pouching, packaging line, and blistering machines.
- Problem solve issues and breakdowns on a variety of machinery and systems including electrical, mechanical and HVAC.
- Inspect machine parts and tooling in order to maintain quality control standards.
- Inspect and examine machinery to detect and troubleshoot power, transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and programmable logic controls (PLCs and inverters).
- Communicate actions taken and solutions found to operators and management.
- Oversee spare parts inventory and ensure additional items ordered when necessary.
- Oversee and perform tasks associated with the preventative maintenance program, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Ensure the creation and updating of user manuals and troubleshooting guides for machines.
- Follow all applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain safety, quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Train and mentor junior maintenance mechanics.
- Participate in and further the Company’s health & safety program.
- Offer suggestions for process improvement.
- Other related duties.
- Fluent in verbal and written English.
- Experience with Programming Logic Control (PLC) or Automation.
- 2 years of experience with electrical maintenance.
- Red Seal certification in a trade, especially electrical.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Willingness to learn.
- Intermediate proficiency in the analysis and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Basic proficiency in mathematics (adding, subtracting, multiplying & dividing).
- Intermediate proficiency in using computers.
- Basic proficiency in using the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Advanced proficiency in the use of variety of hand and power tools.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent problem solving.
- Excellent internal client service – Strong influencing of both colleagues and leadership.
- Strong in leading others.
- Abilities – Lift a minimum of 25 kg.
- Work independently on assigned duties.
- Balance a variety of competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Must be in good health with no communicable diseases or dust allergies.
- Must wear approved non‑slip safety shoes.
- Must follow appropriate gowning procedure before going into production area.
