We are looking for skilled Electrical Wiring Technicians to join our sister company in Burnaby, BC Canada.
RIC Power Corp. is a respected manufacturer specializing in low voltage and medium voltage switch gear.
As a Wiring Technician at RIC Power Corp., you will play a crucial role in our production operations. You will be primarily responsible for the precise wiring and electrical assembly of our medium voltage switch gear and control panels, ensuring they meet rigorous engineering specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform intricate wiring of control panels, protection systems, and medium voltage switch gear components according to engineering drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, and established procedures.
- Execute precise wire termination using various methods (crimping, soldering, lugs) and tools (strippers, cutters, crimpers) per engineering specifications.
- Utilize semi-automated equipment effectively to cut, strip, crimp, and label wires prior to installation.
- Accurately route, bundle, fasten, and identify wires and harnesses within panels and enclosures.
- Mount electrical components such as relays, meters, controllers, PLCs, terminal blocks, and other control/protection devices.
- Position, bolt, screw, and fasten parts, subassemblies, and components using hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions specific to switch gear.
- Set up workstations efficiently to ensure acceptable product quality while minimizing scrap and rework.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality targets.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform ad hoc duties related to production assembly as requested.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a skilled production environment, specifically involving electrical wiring or assembly of industrial control panels or similar equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in electrical assembly (wire strippers, crimpers, cutters, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, etc.).
- Experience with wire termination techniques (crimping, potentially soldering).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
The role involves working in a manufacturing shop environment. It requires regular repetitive motions, lifting, squatting, kneeling, bending, walking, torquing, pulling, carrying, crouching, and standing for extended periods.
