Merlin Plastics Group is a leader in the recycling industry, specializing in the processing of post-consumer and post-industrial plastics. We are committed to environmental responsibility and are seeking dedicated and experienced Machine Operators to join our team.
Position OverviewAs a Machine Operator, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of our facility. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating baling equipment, maintaining machinery, and ensuring production standards are met.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor video control systems to determine when to start the baling process
- Operate equipment to empty bunkers when full
- Use touchscreen panel to control and maintain baling machinery
- Track and record bale weights for forklift drivers
- Ensure a continuous wire supply in the baler
- Write and attach accurate bale tags
- Check bales for contamination and clean them if necessary
- Maintain cleanliness around baling equipment and wire tracks
- Fully clean the baler inside and out to ensure smooth operation
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a plant or warehouse setting is an asset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Positive attitude and pride in workmanship
