Position: City Communications Specialist
Become a key player in the City of Burnaby's communications team as a Communications Specialist focused on public engagement and marketing strategies. Drive impactful community initiatives across city departments.

This specialized role integrates communications, marketing, and public engagement efforts to enhance city services. You will be responsible for planning and evaluating communication projects, creating public engagement materials, and fostering stakeholder relationships. Your ability to anticipate and address community needs will be crucial in this dynamic role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and evaluate communications and engagement projects

• Create and edit effective communication materials for diverse audiences

• Implement community consultation strategies for sensitive matters

• Build partnerships with stakeholders and subject matter experts

• Monitor emerging trends and issues relevant to public engagement

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related discipline

• Considerable experience in communications and public relations

• Strong understanding of engagement principles and practices

• Excellent writing, editing, and public speaking skills

• Driver's Licence for British Columbia required
