Hybrid – Burnaby, BC (Minimum 2 days onsite per week) 8‑Month Contract (Strong potential for extension) Pay: $80–$87/hr INC | $62–$69/hr T4 About the Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to support strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and change initiatives for large‑scale infrastructure and business projects.

This role is ideal for someone who excels at developing communication strategies, translating complex information into clear messaging, and building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans for key projects and initiatives.
  • Create presentations, newsletters, briefing notes, reports, FAQs, web content, and executive communications.
  • Support stakeholder engagement through meetings, workshops, and information sessions.
  • Translate technical and regulatory information into clear, audience‑friendly content.
  • Advise project teams and leaders on communication strategies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and successful project delivery.
  • Measure communication effectiveness and recommend improvements.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Indigenous Studies, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, or public affairs.
  • Experience supporting complex infrastructure, energy, public sector, or multi‑stakeholder projects.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience creating digital communications, newsletters, websites, social media, and multimedia content.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder relationship‑building skills.
  • Willingness to travel to remote communities when required.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in the energy, utilities, government, or regulatory sectors.
  • Experience supporting communications for infrastructure or capital projects.
